October 4, 2007

Quantec is delighted to welcome Daniel Venter to our team.

Daniel started his career in 1997 as a member of the SUNSAT team at the University of Stellenbosch as a software engineer. SUNSAT, now known as Sunspace, was a program that built South Africa's first satellite. It was successfully launched by NASA during 1999.

In 1999 he joined CSense Systems, which received the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) Design Institute Award in 2000 for a project on which Daniel contributed.

Passionate about finance and business, Daniel decided to join the London based company AFA Systems in 2003 as an analyst for their advanced Treasury Management system. After completing his MBA studies in 2005, he joined a Cape Town based company, Softcopy, developing software systems and data bases focused on the advertising and marketing sector.

Daniel will be based in Stellenbosch and will focus particularly on strengthening Quantec’s capabilities in the areas of project management and software and database development. He will also be involved in consulting, marketing, support and training.
