Worldwide Cost of Living
The Economist Intelligence Unit's Worldwide Cost of Living is the ultimate Internet tool for calculating the cost-of-living allowances for expatriates and business travellers, and building compensation packages to match.
Covering the cost of 167 items in 130 cities in 86 countries, this revolutionary service gives you the information you want, when you want it. It enables you to select just the data you need, for the specific cities relevant to your business. If there are items you want to include or exclude from the index—company cars, for example—simply customise the index in a few clicks. You can also view the data in the currency of your choice: the default is the US dollar, plus Japanese yen, British pound, euro, Hong Kong dollar and Singapore dollar. And if you want to see the figures based on a different exchange rate, you can elect to use the current rate, rather than the one that applied when the survey data were gathered.
Once you have created your own customised settings, Worldwide Cost of Living allows you to save them. This means less time and less effort when you come back to use the service later. We have also added simple but effective navigation so you can switch between cities easily—a further time-saver.
