Measured on a year ago, most JSE equity sectors registered positive returns, with the exceptions being Resources, which declined by 8.8% y/y and Oil & Gas which dropped by –4.8% y/y. Technology (10.1% y/y return) and Industrials (9.4%) recorded positive, albeit below average, annual returns. The Healthcare and Consumer services sectors fared the best with increases of 38.8% and 33.1% respectively. Financials and Telecoms also showed solid returns of respectively 27.8% and 17.7%.The overall index returned 13.7% y/y in November 2014.
