South Africa Equity Market (Monthly Report) - May 2015

The monthly All-share Index advanced by 2.3% in April after a 1.9% decrease in March 2015. Of the major JSE sectors, five recorded negative month-on-month returns while four had positive month-on-month returns. Telecommunications and Technology shares fared the best with returns of 14.7% m/m and 11.4% m/m respectively. The worst performing sectors were Healthcare and Resources with returns of –6% m/m and –3.2% m/m respectively.
