A possible downgrade by credit ratings agencies could cause renewed currency weakness which would fuel imported inflation, while food prices are likely to remain under pressure because of the drought. These factors may lead to more interest rate hikes—possibly amounting to between 50 and 150 basis points in 2016/2017.
