Recent figures indicate that our recession probability indicator has shown a consistent increase since early 2015. A slight pullback in the probability indicator appeared between August 2014 and January 2015, but using smoothed data up to end February 2016, the probability of a recession is now well over 90%. The current recession is now already in progress for 30 months with no clear end in sight at present.
