South Africa Financial Conditions Index (Monthly Report) - April 2018

Latest data up to February 2018 show that conditions remained tight, with the slight easing in November disappearing. The average value of the FCI over the past 12 months is up by 4.7% compared with the previous 12 months. Four of the five constituent variables have tightened or remained at levels as at February 2017, while the overall indicator was higher by 3.4% compared with a year ago and up by 12.4% compared with February 2016.
