The rand strengthened against all major developed and emerging market currencies in November 2018 compared with the previous month. The unweighted average change in the value of the rand amounted to 6.1%. Month-on-month, the rand appreciated most against the Brazilian real (11.4%), Canadian dollar (8.1%), Russian rouble (7.8%) and Japanese yen (7.2%). Gains were also recorded against the euro (6.5%), British pound (6.3%), US dollar (6.8%) and Swiss franc (5.7%).
