South Africa Foreign Merchandise Trade (Monthly Report) - January 2019

Measured at a seasonally adjusted basis, the rand value of imports decreased by -4.3% month-on-month in November 2018. Measured at a 3 months annualised basis, imports were 45.8% higher, while import growth over the past 12 months amounted to 12.9%. In dollar terms, imports were down 3.9% on a month ago but 11.1% lower measured at a 3-months annualised basis. Imports in dollar terms were 14.6% higher measured at a 12-months basis.
