South Africa Foreign Merchandise Trade (Monthly Report) - February 2019

Measured at a seasonally adjusted basis, the rand value of imports decreased by 13.5% month-on-month in December 2018. Measured at a 3 months annualised basis, imports were 9.2% lower, while import growth over the past 12 months amounted to 11.9%. In dollar terms, imports were down 11.1% on a month ago but 11.3% higher measured at a 3-months annualised basis. Imports in dollar terms were 12.5% higher measured at a 12-months basis.
