Measured at a seasonally adjusted basis, the rand value of imports increased by 4.8% month-on-month in January 2020. Measured at a 3 months annualised basis, imports were 11.0% lower, while import growth over the past 12 months amounted to 4.0%. The rand value of exports increased by 15.0% month-on-month in January 2020, while exports were 8.5% lower, while export growth over the past 12 months amounted to 4.5%. In dollar terms, exports were up 12.9% on a month ago.
