Measured at a seasonally adjusted basis, the rand value of imports decreased by only 3.8% month-on-month in April 2020. Measured at a 3-months annualised basis, imports were 4.7% lower, while import growth over the past 12 months amounted to -0.9%. Measured at a seasonally adjusted basis, the rand value of exports was decimated in April, decreasing by 47.0% month-on-month. Measured at a 3-months annualised basis, exports were 8.3% lower, while export growth over the past 12 months amounted to 0.1%.
