Measured at a seasonally adjusted basis, the rand value of imports increased by 6.6% month-on-month in July 2020. The rand value of exports increased by 9.2% month-on-month in July 2020. The latest 12-month merchandise trade balance measured a R41bn surplus, compared with an R89 billion deficit recorded during the previous 12 months.
