Quantec is delighted to announce a further addition to our team: From 1 September 2007, Christo Luüs (former Absa chief economist) will be working in partnership with Quantec.
Christo joined the United Building society as econometrician in 1985 and was appointed chief economist at Absa Bank in 1998. He was responsible for general economic and financial markets research and publications, and co-authored books on personal finance matters. Christo served on various organised business committees, financial sector bodies, and government-appointed task groups, including the Council of Statistics SA. He also serves on the Central Council of the Economic Society of SA, and the Board of the SA Institute of Financial Markets.
Christo will focus particularly on strengthening Quantec’s capabilities in the areas of economic and sectoral analysis and forecasting, economic project evaluation, impact assessments for tenders and submissions, and giving presentations to clients and management teams.
