Measured at a seasonally adjusted basis, the rand value of imports decreased by 4.9% month-on-month in January 2021. Measured at a 3-months annualised basis, imports were 39.7% higher, while import growth over the past 12 months amounted to -12.5%. In dollar terms, imports were down 13.4% on a month ago but 77.4% higher measured at a 3-months annualised basis. Imports in dollar terms were 22.6% lower measured at a 12-months basis.
