The daily average turnover in the secondary bond market amounted to R3.1 trillion per month, on average, in the twelve months ended May 2022. This was up 16.3% on the preceding 12-month period. The value of bonds traded remained high with the liquidity ratio in the bond market (consideration value of bonds traded relative to market capitalisation of bonds listed) amounting to an annualised 8.92 times per annum in the twelve months ended May 2022.
