Measured at a seasonally adjusted basis, the rand value of imports increased by 7.6% month-on-month in June 2022. Measured at a 3-months annualised basis, imports were 65.9% higher, while import growth over the past 12 months amounted to 30%. In dollar terms, imports were up 8.7% on a month ago but 70.1% higher measured at a 3-months annualised basis. Measured at a seasonally adjusted basis, the rand value of exports increased by only 0.8% month-on-month in June 2022. Measured at a 3-months annualised basis, exports were 9.1% higher, while export growth over the past 12 months amounted to 13%. In dollar terms, exports were up 1% on a month ago and 2% higher measured at a 3-months annualised basis.
