MAXQDA 24 is the latest major release, with over 35 new features, a modernised interface, and powerful new add-ons including AI Assist with built-in transcription. Here are the highlights.

AI Assist (Add-On)

MAXQDA 24 introduces AI Assist, an optional add-on with a suite of artificial intelligence tools that streamline your qualitative analysis workflow:

• AI-based coding — get automatic coding suggestions based on your existing code system; review and accept or refine the AI proposals
• AI summaries — generate summaries of coded segments, documents or document groups at the click of a button
• AI topic analysis — discover themes and topics across your data using AI-driven topic modelling
• AI-generated memos — automatically draft memo content based on your coded data

Built-In Transcription (via AI Assist)

The AI Assist add-on includes a fully integrated transcription service:

• Automatic speech recognition in 45+ languages
• Speaker identification and timestamps
• Transcriptions appear directly in your MAXQDA project, linked to the original audio/video
• Edit and code transcripts inline with the media player

Enhanced Visualisations

• Visual Trends package — new tools for analysing trends within or across documents, exploring the dimension of “time” in your data
• Improved concept maps — drag coded segments, memos and documents into fully customisable maps
• Interactive word clouds — click a word to see it in context; exclude, group and lemmatise words
• Code map improvements — enhanced layouts and export options for code proximity maps
• Question Explorer — new visualisation for quickly exploring open-ended survey responses
