This page provides a detailed description of the content available within the Impact Analysis Service. The service comprises hundreds of variables that can be categorised and combined in any number of user defined combinations and dimensions.

South Africa / National

South African Social Accounting Matrices (SAMs)

  • Social accounting matrices (SAMs) for South Africa for 91 industries, 4 labour categories by sector and skill level, 13 household categories by decile.
  • Employment quantities by sector and skill level.
  • Fixed capital stock values.
  • In time series format, from 1995 to the latest year.
  • Available as an annual subscription.

South African Multipliers

  • For 91 industries; alternative aggregation levels available (85, 50, 22, 10 or 3 industry aggregations).
  • Initial, first round, direct, indirect and induced impacts.
  • For various economic concepts such as GDP, output, employment, taxes and household income.
  • Multipliers in time series format from 1995 to most recent.
  • Includes underlying values for all economic concepts by industry to allow for the calculation of impact percentages.
  • Available as an annual subscription.

Provincial

Provincial Supply and Use Tables (SUTs)

  • Bilateral flow provincial SUTs showing the flow of goods between a province and the rest of South Africa.
  • 50 industries.
  • Employment quantities and fixed capital stock data are also included.
  • For the latest year.
  • Available as an annual subscription.

Provincial Multipliers

  • For 50 industries.
  • Initial, first round, direct, indirect and induced impacts.
  • For various economic concepts such as GDP, output, employment, taxes and household income.
  • For the latest year.
  • Includes underlying values for all economic concepts by industry to allow for the calculation of impact percentages.
  • Available as an annual subscription.

Regional

Regional Supply and Use Tables (SUTs)

  • Bilateral flow SUTs showing the flow of goods between a region and the rest of South Africa.
  • Available for all province, district municipalities, local municipalities or metropolitan regions.
  • 50 industries.
  • Employment quantities and fixed capital stock data are also included.
  • For the latest year.
  • Available on an ad hoc basis. Clients may purchase any table or combination of tables based on the gliding scale shown below.

Regional Multipliers

  • Available for all province, district municipalities, local municipalities or metropolitan regions.
  • For 50 industries.
  • Initial, first round, direct, indirect and induced impacts.
  • For various economic concepts such as GDP, output, employment, taxes and household income.
  • For the latest year.
  • Includes underlying values for all economic concepts by industry to allow for the calculation of impact percentages.
